The 2012 Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) Summer Symposium will be held Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24, 2012. All sessions will be held in Winona, Minnesota. Attendees in the past have included general and special education staff, related services personnel, paraeducators, and administrators.
HVED, in partnership with its member districts, is a progressive educational agency that embraces modern technology and effective data driven research-based methodologies and resources to provide a high quality education to all students so that they may reach their full potential.
The primary theme of our Symposium this year is "Strengthening the Core: Essentials through Teaming to Provide High Quality Instruction and Differentiation".
We are seeking sessions in the areas of:
• Academic Standards and Assessments
• Social Emotional/Behavior
• Leadership in Schools
• Effective Core Instruction & Intervention
• Due Process and Compliance
• Early Childhood Birth to 5
The Session Proposal form must be completed and submitted to Leslie Johns at
