Winona Children's Day Treatment Program

This program as well as the Winona Elementary Day Treatment Program serve elementary school and middle school age students and provide education and individual, group, and family therapy.  Curriculum guidelines are provided by each student’s home school and serve as a vehicle for mental health and teaching staff to jointly provide for the student's education and therapy program. This is a program supported by the Family and Children's Center, the Hiawatha Valley Education District and Winona County.

Wabasha County Day Treatment Program

This program is a partnership between the Mental Health Center, Hiawatha Valley Education District, and Wabasha County Human Services agencies.  This a full-school day program where the students are involved in skills training, group therapy, one-to-one therapy, and family therapy along with on-site academics.  The primary focus is on the reduction in intensity and frequency of unwanted mental health symptoms and/or behaviors and an increase in skills to manage life experiences.  The end goal is to transition the student back to their home school.

School-Based Mental Health Services

A project sponsored by the Houston County Family Collaborative. SBMH Service Providers with varied backgrounds in counseling, psychology, and social work act as liaisons between children, families, schools, and the community in Houston County schools (Caledonia, Spring Grove, La Crescent, Houston) and the Rushford-Peterson school district in Fillmore County.

Services include assessment and counseling, contacting families and providing home visits, referrals to appropriate agencies, and maintaining a relationship with community service providers. This program is supported by Houston and Fillmore counties and Houston County schools.
