Autism

We provide indirect services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in all of our member districts and charter schools. Staff training and Individualized Educational Program (IEP) team support services are the focus of the program.  Training increases the capacity of the local district and school teams to provide the specialized services required for students with autism.

Consultants also are available to address specific concerns regarding individual students. Activities completed by autism support staff include teacher, paraprofessional, and parent trainings, IEP development, distribution of resource materials, behavioral intervention program planning, specialized evaluation procedures and demonstration teaching. All trainings and services are tailored to each request.

To arrange for HVED educational support services for a student with autism, case managers should contact their Director of Special Education.

The HVED Autism Spectrum Disorders educational support program is coordinated with the Region 10 Autism Consultant Network.
